Just a quick word to readers -- shortly Scooter in the Sticks will be migrating from Blogger to Wordpress. That change should be seamless. I'll post more details just before that happens so we don't lose anyone along the way.

Steve, why the move? I know Blogger has some warts. I'm sure you've done your homework, and I'm looking for the lesson I'm hoping you're going to teach.
I'd also be interested in the motivation for moving. After running my own WP server in the past, I now prefer hosted solutions and willing to live with the limitations.

Blogger has served me well for nearly nine years. The decision to migrate to WordPress was based in part of a dream of making more of Scooter in the Sticks, a long lingering concern that my blog belongs to Google and not to me and they can turn it off at will, a desire to be able to more creatively control the look and feel, and finally being bored with Blogger.
There are certainly lots of pros and cons to both platforms but my decision was based largely on intuition and feeling -- time to change.
Time will tell if it was the right decision.
